Re: Benefit Committee

Dear Ghislaine,

On behalf of Free Arts for Abused Children of NYC, I would be honored if you would accept my invitation to add your name to the Benefit Committee for our Annual Fundraiser this summer.  With the generous support of Polaroid, this year s event, entitled Sunshine , will feature the auctioning off of a series of Polaroid images taken by our contributing artists.

For the past four years, Free Arts has been providing on-going customized art programs to abused, neglected and at-risk children and their families throughout New York City. Through a variety of different programs, 3,000 dedicated volunteers have worked to enhance the lives of over 13,000 children and their families by serving as positive role models and artistic mentors.

Our annual benefit provides the necessary funds to reach out to tens of thousands of children who are otherwise deprived access to the healing power of the arts. Last year, our benefit auction at Sotheby s was a tremendous success due to your support and contributions from over 100 leading artists including Francesco Clemente, Cindy Sherman and Chuck Close. Additionally, the benefit provides an essential platform from which we are able to create a greater public awareness around our mission and accomplishments.

This year s event to be held in July is going to be spectacular. Be it physically or metaphorically, sunshine is a part of our daily lives.  Exclusively using Polaroid cameras, we will be asking artists, photographers and celebrities to take a picture or series of pictures that reflect their interpretation of Sunshine .

Because of the immediacy and inimitable nature of a Polaroid photograph, we know this concept will yield incredibly original and varied results.

I sincerely hope that you will accept our invitation to serve on the Benefit Committee and look forward to hearing from you.

Appreciatively,

Amy Sacco
