1.2 The economic consequences of the
health impacts of climate change
This report focuses on the economic consequences
of climate-health risks. Good health is fundamental
to economic productivity, while poor health slows
economic growth and can entrench poverty
and inequality. The Climate and Health Business Framework
(Figure 2) provides a structure for assessing the
interconnections between climate hazards, health
risks, their economic impacts on business, and
interventions to build resilience.
