LuxCS also follows a high standard of corporate governance, based on the ICROA Code of
Best Practice (ICROA 2024), the ICVCM Fundamental Carbon Principles (ICVCM 2024), and
the IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories (IPCC 2019).
The Triple C Protocol is more efficient and affordable than conventional carbon measurement
processes, as it focuses on biodiversity proxy information rather than time-intensive carbon
measurement processes. Most carbon credit p rograms seek to avoid emissions, which requires
burdensome baseline data collection. Instead, the reliance on biodiversity characteristics
measures the carbon that has already been absorbed in the land, precluding resource-intensive
baselines. As another differentiator, LuxCS covers both avoided deforestation, similar to REDD+
(Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation in Developing countries), and
afforestation, reforestati on, a nd restoration (ARR) conservation practices.
