Temperatures are expected to reach 105 degrees Friday and Saturday, with lows dipping only into the 60s overnight, the weather service reports. The advisory, in effect from 2 p.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday, warns those working outdoors, the very young, the elderly and the sick to take precautions. Stay indoors when possible, drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen and hats and find ways to stay cool. The advisory covers the area from Ashland to Cave Junction, including Medford, Grants Pass and Rogue River.
