The celebration will feature a free barbecue presented by the Lions Club of Ashland, live music from Brothers Reed, community garden tours led by volunteer docents, self-guided walks on the creek-side loop, sidewalk art and seed planting for kids.  During the celebration, parking will be available at Ashland Christian Fellowship, across from Ashland Creek Park. Ashland Creek Park is at 27 E. Hersey St., between Oak and Helman streets. An undeveloped seven-acre parcel purchased from the Vogel family in 2001, the new park will feature redesigned community gardens, a children’s playground, multi-use playing field lawn, ADA-accessible trails, bicycle parking and restrooms. Partial funding for the development of Ashland Creek Park was provided through a grant from Oregon Parks and Recreation. The Lions Club recently adopted the park through APRC’s “Volunteer in Parks” program. More information on Ashland’s newest park is available at www.ashland.or.us/AshlandCreekPark.
