Food drive wraps up Friday Windermere staff collects food for ACCESS Food Bank Comment By Caitlin Fowlkes For the Tidings DailyTidings.com By Caitlin Fowlkes For the Tidings Posted May. 31, 2016 at 7:57 PM By Caitlin Fowlkes For the Tidings Posted May. 31, 2016 at 7:57 PM » Social News A food drive benefiting ACCESS Food Bank wraps up with the collection of food bags by Windermere Van Vleet and Associates real estate brokers on Friday, June 3, Windermere’s annual Community Service Day. The public can participate by picking up an empty bag from any of the four Jackson County Windermere offices and filling it with dry goods. Bags can either be dropped at any of the offices or picked up by a real estate broker. Windermere brokers will deliver the donations to ACCESS headquarters in Medford. “We heard from ACCESS that their donations are down in the summer and thought that this would be a good project,” said Pam Lorange, managing broker of Windermere in Ashland. ACCESS has been helping Jackson County residents break the cycle of poverty with assistance programs since 1976. Suggested food items include canned foods (fruits, vegetables, soup, etc.), grains (pasta, oatmeal, rice, etc.) and non-perishables (peanut butter, nuts, trail mix, etc.). “We’re hoping to have about five bags per agent and we have 19 agents at the Ashland office,” said Lorange. “We’ll begin picking up bags this week; so far I have 16 bags sitting in my office.” Owned by father-son duo John Zupan and Devin Zupan, Windermere Van Vleet and Associates operates offices in Eagle Point, Medford, Jacksonville and Ashland. Each year, Windermere Real Estate brokers, managers, owners and staff from 300 offices across the Western United States devote their workday to making positive changes in the neighborhoods they serve through local projects and volunteerism. Established 32 years ago, Windermere’s annual Community Service Day has been recognized nationally as a model hands-on volunteer program and has been adopted by other real estate companies and businesses around the country. Windermere Real Estate has more than 300 offices and 7,000 agents in 12 states. The Windermere Foundation funds services for low-income and homeless families.
