November 25. 2014 12:05PM 4 Things to do this Weekend THURS Nia DanceFeast: Nia dance instructor Rachael Resch will facilitate the 15th annual Nia Thanksgiving DanceFeast from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27, at The DanceSpace, 280 E. Hersey St. #10, Ashland. The cost is $12. No previous dance experience is necessary. Participants will experience fun, simple moves as well as free-form dance done to eclectic world beat music. FRI Ashland Festival of Light Parade and Grand Illumination: The 22nd annual Festival of Light will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, with live entertainment on the Ashland Plaza. Santa's Parade and the city's Grand Illumination ceremony will start at 5 p.m. From 6:45 to 8 p.m., children can share wishes with Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Black Swan Theatre, corner of Pioneer and East Main streets. FRI Holiday Magic Show: Magical Michael will delight children of all ages during a Holiday Open House from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at the Northwest Nature Shop, 154 Oak St., Ashland. There will be magic shows at 1:30 and 3 p.m. The open house also features Platt Anderson Cellars wine tasting, Rogue Creamery cheese tasting, Cary's of Oregon sweets tasting and free face painting. SAT Benefit Film Screening: The Ashland Independent Film Festival will have benefit screenings of the documentary "Pelican Dreams" at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, and 2:10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Varsity Theatre, 166 E. Main St., Ashland. Both screenings benefit the nonprofit film festival.
