The National Weather Service said a series of storms would start arriving off the Pacific Tuesday, then push northward Wednesday morning. A strong cold front will roll through Wednesday night, bringing rain and winds to the region. The Rogue Valley could see anywhere from a half-inch to an inch of rain by early Friday. Rivers are expected to rise across southwest Oregon and Northern California, though weather officials said flooding concerns are mostly isolated to coastal rivers and streams. "We're expecting Bear Creek to rise to between 6 and 7 feet, but flood stage isn't until we reach 10," Weather Service meteorologist Brett Lutz said . Lutz added the Rogue River stretch adjacent to Eagle Point also could rise to 7 feet, but flood stage there is 10 feet. The river at the old Gold Ray Dam site is expected to rise to around 8 feet, but flood stage is 12 feet. Near Agness, the Rogue is forecast to rise to just short of action stage — when waters rise to the banks — or 14 feet. Coastal rivers such as the Coquille are more likely to reach flood stage, weather officials said. Burn scars in western Siskiyou County could see heavy debris flows. The strongest winds are expected to blow Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Medford could see 30 mph gusts, according to weather service data. Gusts on the Siskiyou summit could reach 24 mph, while Lake of the Woods could see winds reach 31 mph, and Dead Indian Memorial Road could see gusts close to 40 mph.
