Ashland Chamber Service Business of the Year: Reinholdt & O’Harra Ashland Chamber of Commerce logo Monday Feb 13, 2017 at 7:01 PM Feb 13, 2017 at 7:01 PM By Katharine Cato Ashland Chamber of Commerce Each fall at the Ashland Chamber of Commerce’s annual dinner, the chamber through its awards program recognizes individuals and businesses who have given generously of themselves for the betterment of our community and the chamber. Service businesses are an important part of what make up the Ashland business community. The recipient of the Service Business of the year for 2016-2017 is a business that not only provides excellent quality of service but also has contributed to the Ashland community over time — nearly 80 years. Reinholdt & O’Harra Insurance originally opened for business on Main Street in Ashland in 1939. The business at that time was owned by Howard C. Wiley, and was known as the Howard Wiley Insurance Agency. In 1948, Mr. Wiley was joined in the business by Bob Reinholdt. The agency then became known as the Wiley & Reinholdt Insurance Agency. After Mr. Wiley's death in the mid 1960's, Mr. Reinholdt operated the agency independently until 1970 when Bob O'Harra joined him and formed Reinholdt & O'Harra. In 1981, Terry Adams purchased Mr. Reinholdt's portion of the business, and the agency continued under the existing name. In 1982, Mr. O'Harra entered retirement and sold his portion of the business to Dee Selby. Dee Selby retired in 2001. He sold his ownership interest in the agency to Greg White, a young man he had known since Greg was in high school here in Ashland (if you followed Ashland High School football in the 1980s, you know what we are talking about). In 2010, Allison Ward became a partner in Reinholdt & O'Harra. The Chamber is fortunate to have had a number of owners of Reinholdt & O'Harra Insurance involved with the chamber serving on the Board of Directors over many decades. Bob O'Harra and then Terry Adams served on the board, as did Dee Selby and, most recently, Greg White. They care about the community and show that by their involvement and participation. We’ve been grateful for Greg White’s past leadership on the Board of Directors and his commitment to youth in the community.
