Wild & Scenic Film Fest screens in Ashland Friday night Tim Palmer, author of "Wild & Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy," is the keynote speaker for the fifth annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival On Tour Friday night in Ashland. [Photo courtesy of osupress.oregonstate.edu] Thursday Nov 9, 2017 at 8:02 PM Nov 9, 2017 at 8:02 PM Local news The Rogue Riverkeeper nonprofit organization will present the fifth annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival at a new location Friday night: the Historic Ashland Armory. This iteration of the touring film festival includes a happy hour, live music, silent auction, food, beverages and more. The film program will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a brief presentation from Rogue Riverkeeper staff and then keynote speaker Tim Palmer, an author, photographer and river connoisseur. He will show images from his recently published book "Wild & Scenic Rivers: An American Legacy" and talk about the importance of wild and scenic rivers and the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act. This event is a benefit for Rogue Riverkeeper's work to protect and restore clean water in the Rogue Basin. Doors open at 5 p.m. with films due to run from about 7 to 9:30 p.m. with a 20 minute intermission at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St., Ashland.
