"The purpose of the ... meeting is to build a foundation of face-to-face relationships between the representatives," Stromberg said in a release about the gathering. Organizations expected to send representatives include the Ashland Emergency Food Bank, the Ashland Chamber of Commerce, La Clinica, Jackson County Mental Health, the city of Ashland, Emek Shalom, Trinity Episcopal, Unitarians, Presbyterians, Uncle Fud's, StreetDogs, the Maslow Project, ACCESS Vets Services, Rogue Community Health and the Good Will Job Center. Invitees include all such organizations currently known to the mayor. Similar organizations who haven’t received invitations are asked to contact the mayor before the meeting (541-552-2104, [email protected]) so they can be added to the list and attend. The purpose of the meeting is to begin organizing for collaboration, information collection and sharing and creative problem-solving during the visitor season of 2016 and beyond. The organizing starts with establishing a foundation of relationships, plus possibly exploring some logistics and coordination.
