The National Weather Service reported the advisory will be in effect until 4 p.m. for Jackson County, including Medford and Ashland. Southeast winds of up to 30 mph are expected, with 40 mph gusts. Gusts could reach speeds of close to 50 mph near Ashland. Winds are expected to diminish by the evening hours. Difficulty driving could be increased for motorists along Interstate 5, especially those in higher profile vehicles. Fallen trees in roadways could further hinder travelers. Concurrently, a high wind warning remains in effect for the Siskiyou Mountains and Cascades, including Crater Lake, until 10 a.m. During that time, southwest winds of up to 70 mph are possible for those areas, with gusts of close to 100 mph, weather officials said in the issued warning.
