Transforming stresses into tools Friday Oct 13, 2017 at 7:34 PM Oct 13, 2017 at 7:34 PM Local report Transforming the damaging effects of gossip, feuds and disagreements, as well as envy and negative judgment is the subject of a four-session class Rabbi David Zaslow, spiritual leader of the Havurah Synagogue, will teach. "Tools for Transformation," a Mussar–based practice, arose as a survival tool that arose within Eastern European communities that were under enormous duress — as many are feeling today. Envy, rivalry, power struggles, and gossip often undermine the best of relationships in family and communities. The four-week class meets from 5 to 6 p.m. Thursdays on Oct. 19 and 26 and Nov. 2 and 9, at The Havurah, 185 N Mountain Ave., Ashland. There's a sliding scale fee of $20 to $40 for all four sessions.
