Kay was born in Los Angeles and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Her parents were able to give their twelve children a secure, happy childhood during the depression by engaging them in family sings around the piano and sandlot baseball. Kay married her beloved husband, Ray during WWII. They remained together for 66 years, raising five children who flourished into a loving family of thirteen grandchildren and twenty four great grandchildren. Kay and Ray spent their adult life dedicated to the Catholic Church and their own spiritual development. Moving to Ashland in 1977, they joined Our Lady of the Mountain, attending daily Mass and serving on the Parish Council. Kay founded, and Ray built, a book corner in the parish hall to provide reading material to support spiritual growth. Kay loved walking on beaches collecting seashells and colored glass. She took great pleasure in the sound of waves and the beauty of sunsets, teaching her children that value is not in money but in the heart of the individual who treasures natural beauty. Her family will carry on her journey of intellectual and spiritual exploration. A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. June 4, 2016 at Our Lady of the Mountain.
