Oregon Convicted Felon, David Ralston, Arrested for Making and Selling Illegal Firearms Crime & Courts By Lucille McNamara On Dec 13, 2024 DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. — A multiple convicted felon, David Ralston (35), was arrested in a traffic stop on Wednesday by members of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation by detectives from the Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT). The investigation was into allegations that Ralston was illegally producing and selling firearms from his home in the 400 Block of Division Street, Drain, according to a DINT news release.   AR-15-Style Rifle and Glock-Style Handgun Seized at David Ralston’s Home In November, an AR-15-style rifle with no serial number was seized by police. The firearm was said to have been produced by Ralston. Then, earlier this month, police learned that Ralston had a Glock-style handgun that he had produced, once again with no serial number. Police learned that the Glock was ready for purchase by a prospective buyer. Producing and selling firearms is illegal in Oregon, as is avoiding a background check process. Ralston is a multiple convicted felon who is not allowed by law to possess firearms.   Property Search Uncovered 21 Firearms and Drugs After his arrest, DINT detectives executed a warrant to search Ralston’s home and found the Glock-style handgun and 19 other firearms in various stages of production, all without serial numbers. Detectives also took possession of firearm production equipment and two factory-made firearms. They also confiscated 0.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine and 0.1 grams of suspected DMT, a psychedelic drug. Ralston is facing 21 counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, four counts of a felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of the illegal manufacture, import, or sale of weapons, and one count each of drug possession. DINT comprises members from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, the Bureau of Land Management, Oregon State Police, and the Roseburg Police Department.   Sources & References Press Release from Douglas Interagency Narcotics Team (DINT) https://oregon.public.law/statutes/… Douglas County Methamphetamine Southern Oregon Share Twitter Facebook ReddIt WhatsApp Pinterest Email
