Main St., Ashland. The Library Journal called "On Thin Icing" "a light souffle of a book ... a perfect mix," and Portland Book Review gave it gave the book its highest rating. Alexander bakes up a delectable tale of murder and intrigue, along with tasty treats, in her series that includes "Meet Your Baker" and "A Batter of Life and Death." Her works include original, handcrafted recipes for delectable pastries and sweets. Her latest work introduces readers to the small town family bakeshop Torte where the treats are "killer good." It's the dead of winter in the sleepy town of Ashland, which means no tourists-and fewer customers for Jules Capshaw and her bakery. But when she's asked to cater an off-season retreat for the directors of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, business starts heating up — until Jules finds a dead body in the freezer. Two more books in the series, "Caught Bread Handed" and "A Batch of Trouble," are scheduled for release later this year.
