"I could kill a black person and be out of jail in a day and half," a man yelled at actor Christiana Clark as she walked her dog in the Railroad District on June 24. "The KKK is alive and well here." A video Clark posted about the incident on Facebook has been viewed 186,000 times as of Friday. It can be seen at bit.ly/ashlandracism . OSF Repertory Producer Mica Cole was near the Bricks at the hub of the OSF campus Wednesday when a man told her he was going to kill her. It's not known if the man was same as the one who verbally assaulted Clark. Saturday's meeting is titled "Community Gathering: Unpacking Racism," according to a Facebook event page hosted by OSF, which says the event is co-hosted by OSF, the city of Ashland, Southern Oregon University, Racial Equity Coalition, United Way of Jackson County, Temple Emek Shalom, and SOPride. The free, public event will be held in the armory at 208 Oak St., Ashland. 2:34 p.m. Friday, July 1: This story was updated to correct Mica Cole's OSF connection.
