The event, sponsored by the Ashland Art Center, aims to inspire art students from middle school through college, plus adult students. The three featured artists will will talk about their skills, inspirations and accomplishments in 20-minute presentations held at the Historic Ashland Armory on Thursday, Nov. 12. Doors open at 6 p.m. for catered appetizers and a no-host bar reception. Presentations start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $35. Workshops and presentations will be held Friday through Sunday, Nov. 13-15. This year’s artist presenters are painter Gregg Kreutz, sculptor Kevin Christman and artist/entrepreneur, Denise Baxter. Gregg Kreutz is an award winning painter and author of the classic artist’s guide, “Problem Solving for Oil Painters.” He has won numerous awards and has had one-man shows at Grand Central Galleries, The Fanny Garver Gallery, the Newport Art Association and the Hilligoss Gallery in Chicago. Kevin Christman studied fine art at The Art Center in Pasadena and has been a professional artist for 25 years. His work is exhibited worldwide and he is a member of the National Sculpture Society and the Portrait Society. Christman is currently working on a five-year commission creating the artwork for St. Mary’s Chapel in Medford and he is known for his sculpture “Tree of Transmutation,” created for Burning Man in 2012. Denise Baxter, executive director and founder of the nonprofit Ashland Art Center, has worked with many art mediums, including photography, printing, sculpture, watercolors, computer aided design, murals and oil painting. After earning master's degrees in business fields, she worked for a Fortune 500 corporation and two startup organizations, a background that helped lead her to her position with the Art Center. Tickets and registration information for the workshops are available online at www.artinspiresashland.org or at the Ashland Art Center, 357 E Main St., Ashland. There are discounts on the workshops for Art Center members. Proceeds from the event will help fund Ashland Art Center’s children’s classes, education programs and professional artist services.
