Daily Tidings Daily Tidings Sign up for the Morning Brief Newsletter . facebook twitter NW Medford Armed Intruder Allegedly Killed In Self-Defence By Diane Megaw on August 26, 2024 MEDFORD, Ore. — At about 6:14 PM on Saturday, August 24, the Medford Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of an attempted break-in at a Berrydale Road apartment complex in northwest Medford. Initially, an unknown individual was reported to be attempting to force entry into an apartment. A second call- received a few minutes later, reported hearing gunshots at the same location. A deceased male with apparent gunshot wounds was discovered by officers who attended. Investigations Following Berrydale Road Fatal Shooting Medford detectives are investigating the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest the dead man was trying to break into an apartment armed with a knife and moved towards a resident. Another resident shot him in self-defense, fatally wounding the intruder. According to the Medford Police Department, the investigation is ongoing Further information will be released when it’s available.
