AIR is intended to help city residents “Be Informed” and to “Get a Kit.” Each participant will take away an emergency kit worth more than $30. Registration is $10, which is required in advance. Seating is limited to 400. Tickets are selling quickly and are expected to sell out. To register, call 541-482-2770 or go in person to Ashland Fire & Rescue Station No. 1 at 455 Siskiyou Blvd. between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Vendors featuring emergency supplies and tips will be available at noon, during breaks and after the session. The workshop will be presented from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Door prizes will be given out during a drawing during the workshop. The workshop will include presentations about Ashland's seismic risks by Dr. Althea Rizzo from Oregon Emergency Management. Other topics include fires and floods, the Citizen Alert program, weather emergencies, and other emergency tips. Emergency kits will only be provided to those in attendance with tickets. The kit includes emergency supplies such as water, a first-aid kit, food rations, flashlight, towelettes, survival blanket, radio and more. More information is available at www.ashland.or.us/air. Events sponsors include Asante – Ashland Community Hospital, Ashland Chamber of Commerce, COSTCO, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Shop’n Kart, and Southern Oregon University.
