Dylan Ashmun, 26, who is suspected of shooting his 24-year-old roommate, Joseph Faaeteete, on March 28, faced additional charges Monday of first-degree robbery, kidnapping and aggravated theft, Ashland police said. His alleged accomplice in the robbery, Ryan Williams, 20, of Medford, was arrested Monday by Ashland police in the 600 block of Berrydale Avenue, Medford, after officers served a search warrant there and recovered property stolen during the Ashland robbery. Williams was booked into the Jackson County Jail on similar first-degree robbery, kidnapping and aggravated theft charges. Police believe Ashmun, Williams and a third, unnamed suspect entered a home in the 100 block of Alnutt Street, Ashland, on Jan. 13 and told the lone male occupant they were armed. They ordered him to different rooms in the house during the robbery, said Detective Sgt. Tighe O'Meara of Ashland police. O'Meara would not say what was stolen or how much of it was recovered, citing the continuing investigation. An undisclosed amount of money was taken from the home, and the victim was not injured, police said. "Our evidence shows that they had some indication to what was in the victim's house, and they wanted what was in the victim's house," said O'Meara. "It didn't seem to be a random incident." Ashland police served another search warrant at a residence on Cherry Lane in Medford, O'Meara said. He said the two searches "turned up guns," but it was unclear whether the weapons were used in the Ashland robbery. Oregon State Police and the Medford SWAT team assisted in serving the search warrants. Williams' bail is set at more than $2 million and Ashmun's at more than $3 million because of prior charges, records show. O'Meara said detectives have no reason to believe any of the evidence recovered from the Medford homes was from separate robberies or burglaries. "To have the forward movement that we do on this case is a good thing for the community, and the entire valley," O'Meara said. "A home invasion robbery in Ashland is a very rare thing."
