Edna “Alice” Soballe Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted Dec. 2, 2014 at 2:00 AM Posted Dec. 2, 2014 at 2:00 AM » Social News Edna Alice Soballe, 96, went home to be with the Lord Jesus Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Alice was born September 12, 1918, in Union, Iowa to parents LaMont and Edna Moore. She grew up in Eldora, Iowa, where she graduated from Eldora High School in 1937. On June 10, 1939, she married Harold Soballe in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Portland in September, 1939 where they resided until 1956, when they moved to Medford. She was an accountant by trade, but most of her adult life was spent raising a family and taking care of her home. Her hobbies included crafts, knitting, small antiques, and gardening. She also enjoyed hosting holiday dinners and women's Bible studies. She took great pride in her family and they brought her the greatest joy. Alice is survived by her daughter, Ann (Mark) Wiegand; grandchildren, Paul (Julie) Bennett, Kim (Darrin) Doyle, and Lindsay (Marty) Blanchard of Medford; great-grandchildren, Brittany (Tanner) Krag, Brooke Bennett of Klamath Falls, Ethan and Erica Lenhardt of Medford, Aaron and Isaac Blanchard of Central Point, and Payton Doyle of Medford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Soballe; sister, Marjorie Moore; and brothers, Merwin and Herbert Moore. A private service for close family and friends will be held. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Grace Christian Schools.
