Today in the News: No charges to be filed against Wisconsin officer Comment MailTribune.com Writer Posted May. 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM Posted May. 12, 2015 at 3:00 PM » Social News NEWS TO KNOW Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne announced earlier today that the Wisconsin police officer who shot and killed an unarmed teenager in Madison in March will not face charges in connection with the incident. In his lengthy explanation on the investigation, Ozanne said his office had determined that officer Matt Kenny’s use of force against biracial 17-year-old Tony Robinson was lawful. Kenny was responding to a report of a domestic disturbance when he encountered Robinson, who witnesses say was jumping in and out of traffic and had punched several pedestrians. Friedman said today at the end of a seven-day hearing on John Hinckley Jr.'s freedom. Hinckley infamously attempted to assassinate president Ronald Reagan in 1981 to impress actress Jodie Foster. Jim Brady, one of Reagan’s aides, was seriously wounded by Hinckley.
