Barbara E. Thacker Sep 09, 2016 12:00 AM A A August 8, 1926 - August 11, 2016 Barbara Thacker, formerly of Ashland, Ore., passed away August 11, 2016, just three days after her 90th birthday. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family at her home in Los Angeles, Calif. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother; dedicated teacher and children’s advocate for over 40 years, Barbara was also a Master Gardener. Visitors to her home usually found her out among her flowers, and left with a bounty of just-picked produce. Barbara was a deeply principled, genuine, and generous woman who gave constantly to her family, friends, and community, always with love and joy. She is survived by her four children and 13 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Works/Dunn House (community-works.org) or Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Southern Oregon University.
