Robertson sets SOU track best WEST PALM BEACH, Fla . -- Nicole Robertson finished fourth in the women's discus and in the process broke the Southern Oregon University school record at the NAIA National Track and Field Championships Tuesday. Robertson, a freshman from Troutdale, threw the discus 149 feet, 6 inches to break the school record of 148-5. Kena Page also had a good outing, finishing seventh in the long jump with a leap of 17-8. On the track, Mat Davis and Tiwanna Merritt had strong qualifying heats in the men's and women's 400, respectively. Davis ran a time of 48.68 while Merritt clocked 56.30 to break her own school record of 56.69. Both runners will compete in today's finals. In other events, Laura Lincoln failed to qualify for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles and SOU's 4 x 100 relay team failed to advance.
