John Rocha, 23, of Medford, was arrested Tuesday on a menacing charge for allegedly pointing an airsoft gun that resembled a Mac-10 submachine gun at his ex-girlfriend at about 10 p.m. Monday after driving past her apartment on Black Oak Drive four times that night. Lucas Benjamin Molina, 25, of Central Point, and Christian Jonathan Torres, 19, of Medford, were arrested Monday night for first-degree attempted assault and other charges after police determined Molina fired a shot from a handgun at an associate of Rocha's who was walking down Prune Street at about 10:45 p.m., according to a Medford police news release. No one is believed to have been injured in the shooting, and police recovered one shell casing, according to the release. Police said Molina and Torres had been searching for Rocha in retaliation for his actions toward the ex-girlfriend that night, the release said. Jackson County sheriff's deputies arrested Molina and Torres at about 11:30 p.m. Monday after stopping their car near Blackwell Road and Molina Terrace. Molina was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on felony charges of attempted first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm, and three misdemeanor counts of recklessly endangering another person. He remained in jail without bail for violating his parole on a previous third-degree assault conviction. Torres was arraigned Wednesday on felony charges of attempted first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon, and three misdemeanor charges of reckless endangering. Circuit Judge Kelly Ravassipour set Torres' bail at $150,000, court records show. Rocha was arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a misdemeanor charge of menacing. Ravassipour set his bail at $40,000, court records show. Reach reporter Nick Morgan at 541-776-4471 or [email protected]. Follow him on Twitter at @MTCrimeBeat.
