Dragonfly, located below Oregon Cabaret Theater at Hargadine and South Second streets, was a favorite dining spot for several years. The owner is William Tosheff, according to the city business license. He was not reachable. A phone recording said the restaurant was permanently closed, but “there are new ideas in the works, so keep an eye out for us in Ashland.” Oregon Cabaret Theater is still in operation. It built the restaurant space in 1990. It previously housed Primavera restaurant. The space occupied by Mountain Supply, a favorite and well-located outlet for tents, sleeping bags, boots and such, was empty on Tuesday. The owner listed by the city, Beatrice Gillian, could not be reached. It is at 31 N. Main on the Plaza, under the new Brickroom restaurant. The troubled Mystic Treats restaurant got a 48-hour makeover from the “Restaurant Impossible” show on the Food Channel in late October. The re-do cost $10,000 and was scheduled to air in January or February. Owners Erika and Michael Lowe complained of rent increases and a bad location. They lowered prices but it was not enough to do the trick. In an email to the Tidings Tuesday, Erika Lowe said they were not able to meet new rent levels so the shop and its contents were padlocked by owners. The restaurant started as a vegetarian shop in Talent and ran there for two years before coming to Ashland two years ago in the Tolman Creek Shopping Center on Ashland Street.
