Bulldog boxers claim victory in all 11 fights CENTRAL POINT -- The Bulldog Boxing Club sent 11 fighters into the ring Saturday at the Bulldog Boxing Fall Classic and came away with 11 wins at the Jackson County Expo Pavilion. The standing-room-only crowd of approximately 500 people at the Jackson County Expo witnessed bouts between teams from Nevada, Washington and Oregon. Alex Trujillo, of the 13-14 year-old, 132-pound division, was named outstanding junior boxer of the tournament following his win over over Derek Myers of the archrival Tacoma team. Also named outstanding fighter for the tournament was Salvador Regalado in the senior division. Regalado, fighting in the 125-pound weight class, won by decision over Oscar Torrez of Carson City, Nevada. Boone Wyatt, a 14-year-old, 112-pounder, and Alex Ponce, a 9-year-old, 65-pound division fighter, each had their fights stopped in the first round after delivering consistent punishing blows to their opponents. Junior national champion Ricky Gallegos won his bout in the 139-pound weight class and Sam Sleezer, senior national champion, outlasted Mike Sams of Tacoma in the 201-pound division. Mike Wilson, a three-time junior national champion, beat Chauncy Welliver in the super heavyweight bout. Other Bulldog winners were Tito Torrez, age 9-10, 70-pound division; Javier Torrez, age 11, 100-pound division; Nathan James, senior division, 147-pound weight class; and Omero Gonzalez, age 15-16, 156-pound division.
