Suspect arrested in motel robbery Medford police arrested a Washington man suspected of helping another man stick up a downtown motel. But detectives were still searching for the second suspect late Thursday. Anton Theodore Peterson, 19, of Puyallup, Wash., was being held on more than $1 million bail at the Jackson County Jail after police charged him Thursday with second-degree robbery. Police said Peterson helped a second man rob the Little Market, 523 S. Central Ave., Sunday night. They declined to provide details about Peterson's alleged assistance in the robbery. But detectives investigating the crime developed information that led them to Peterson, said Medford police Lt. Tim George. Officers contacted Peterson Thursday morning outside the Gospel Mission and took him to police headquarters, where they interviewed him before his arrest. Police also charged Peterson as an ex-felon in possession of a firearm, a charge unrelated to the robbery, George said. Meanwhile, police said they have identified the primary suspect in the robbery, but would not divulge the suspect's name. According to reports, a 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 white man with a thin build demanded an undisclosed amount of money from a clerk at the Little Market. Police said the robber, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, told the clerk he had a gun but didn't show his weapon. The robber was clean-shaven but appeared to have a blackened right eye. He was last seen wearing a ski cap, dark jacket, and a two-tone Adidas T-shirt, police said. Anyone with information in the case is asked to call 770-4783.
