Sex offender vanishes after violating probation The whereabouts of a convicted sex offender are unknown and Jackson County Corrections officers have asked the court to issue a warrant for the man's arrest. Sean Robert Bence, 25, was found guilty of first-degree sexual abuse and sentenced to 10 years on probation in November 1994. Bence's probation was revoked in June 1995 and he was sentenced to 16 months in prison. He was paroled in May 1996 and has been in and out of custody since then for probation violations. Bence was most recently released from prison on Dec. 14, 1998. He was last seen by corrections officers on Dec. 28, 1998. Conditions of Bence's release are that he have no contact with minor girls and that he undergo polygraph testing and sex offender treatment. He also is prohibited from drinking alcohol and having contact with his victims. Bence is known to target girls, corrections officials said. He sexually abuses girls over whom he has influence or control. Bence is 6 feet tall and he weighs 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.
