Jackson St., Medford. Condiments including sauerkraut and chips will be served. The meal will cost $5 for non-veterans, and all funds raised will go to help local veterans. Free Lunch for Vets: In honor of Veterans Day, veterans and active service members of the U.S. military can get free lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Texas Roadhouse, 1702 Delta Waters Road, Medford. Veterans who can provide proof of service will have a choice of 10 entrees, including a six-ounce sirloin. Call 541-772-2052. VA Ceremony: Veterans Affairs will host a ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Southern Oregon Rehabilitation Center and Clinics, 8495 Crater Lake Highway, White City. Col. Gregor Leist, vice commander of the 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field In Klamath Falls, will speak. The program includes salutes to veterans and active duty military, a remembrance of those who have died, music by the Rogue Valley Symphonic Band, a Native American honor song and posting of the colors by the Young Marines. Jobs With Justice Rally: Southern Oregon Jobs with Justice, union members and postal employees will hold a rally in protest of upcoming mail delays from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Medford Post Office, 325 S. Southern Oregon Concert Band: The community band will present "Honor and Valor," a musical and ceremonial tribute to veterans, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at Central Medford High School, 815 S. Oakdale Ave. The event will especially commemorate veterans of the Vietnam War. Look for a performance of Robert W. Smith's "Mekong," marches by John Philip Sousa, a medley of American favorites by Stephen Foster, Richard Rogers' "Highlights from South Pacific" and a traditional Armed Forces salute that will include the five services' songs. The tribute will kick off with a concert and dance party at 6 p.m. with the Martin Behnke Sextet playing jazz, big-band standards and more. Admission is by donation. Michael Franti: Singer, songwriter and guitarist Michael Franti and his band Spearhead will present acoustic sets of hip-hop, reggae and rock at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Historic Ashland Armory, 208 Oak St. Franti, also a DJ, will close the show with a mix of recorded music. Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter and guitarist Ethan Tucker will open the show. Tickets cost $36 at the door.   Wednesday, Nov. 12 Windows in Time: Historian Joe Peterson will present "Saloons and Suffrage in Southern Oregon" at noon Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Ashland library, 410 Siskiyou Blvd., Ashland. The play tells the story of a friar in 14th-century France who seeks to spread joy and humor by assembling a troupe of red-nosed fools during the height of the Black Plague.
