I see activity around the building, but I haven't heard much of late. Am I going to have to wait until my grandkids turn 21 to go there for a brew? — Paul R., Medford Common Block Brewing Co. founders Alex and Danielle Amarotico are plugging away at a less-hectic pace than when they first announced their plans last spring. The Amaroticos, former partners in Ashland's Standing Stone Brewery, are building a 15-barrel brewery and 280-seat restaurant at 315 E. Fifth Street north of the Lithia Motors headquarters "Common Block is coming along at the pace that’s right for us," said spokesperson Rachel Koning. "Our team has been busy building the brewery infrastructure, browsing brewing equipment and creating plans for the day-to-day operations. Working with a team that’s used to being in the busy restaurant and brewing industry, we’re all enjoying our time developing Common Block and working together to make it what we envision." Welding on the support beam and railings for the second level, for loft seating, is done, and work is proceeding on radiant-heating panels for the open space. "We’re excited to get our taps flowing, and in the meantime, we’re pleased with our progress, and we’ll continue to build, brainstorm and plan our way to opening Common Block," she said. The brew pub is posting photos of its progress on its website and social media sites. Send questions to “Since You Asked,” Mail Tribune Newsroom, P.O.
