She was 95. Marie was born July 14, 1919 in San Jose, Calif. to Harvey and Ruth Gum. She married William Bill Couch (who preceded her in death) in 1939. Together they had four sons and a daughter: William Jr. (Bonnie) of Port Ludlow, Wash., David H. (Heather) who preceded her in death in 2011, Dennis S. (Sharon) of Mill Creek, Wash. and Mary Lou who died shortly after birth. Marie took great pride and joy in her 5 grandchildren (Kim, Kevin, Kari, Jeanne and Dana) and 8 great-grandchildren, Billy, Kailani, Tyler, Alexander, Hayden, Emily, Noah, and Reid, all of whom survive her. Marie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Medford, Ore. for more than 30 years. She was an active member of White Shrine, Eastern Star, Amaranth, Job's Daughters and DeMolay. Marie belonged to, and participated generously in, far too many civic organizations to list here. She was a shining example of generosity, virtue, compassion and love for all. Marie will be greatly missed by her family who loved her so very dearly. A graveside service is planned for 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Central Point Masonic Cemetery, Central Point, Ore. No host late lunch at New Far East, Medford to follow.
