North's Preston eyes powerlifting nationals Sean Preston will compete Sunday in the two-day Junior National Powerlifting Championships in Lincoln, Neb. The 17-year-old senior-to-be at North Medford High placed fifth in the championships last year held in Chicago. Preston qualified for the national event during the Oregon State Championships in March at North Medford High where he posted a 1,222-pound total in the squat, bench press and deadlift events. A 1,070 total qualifies for nationals. "I'm probably one of the favorites to win," said Preston. "This meet is tailored to my style of lifting.
