She passed over in her sleep, but held on long enough for many of her loved ones to say goodbye. She was born November 14, 1951 in Grants Pass, Ore. Kathi grew up in southern Oregon and loved to camp and fish in the area. She baked the most delicious bread in the world and loved to share decadent homemade candy with everyone during the holidays. A fan of music, she had a beautiful singing voice and loved to belt out Patsy Cline tunes. She was friendly to every person she met. She was a passionate gardener, and in her younger years she was quite the artist. If you ever slept in the same house with her, you knew she was always the first awake, and made sure to bang all the pots and pans so that you didn’t waste too much time sleeping. She was a determined, resilient, caring, fun-loving, big-hearted woman who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew her. Kathi is survived by her three children, Joseph Louis Pariera, Jennifer Jill Pariera, and Katrina Louise Pariera; her partner for more than 20 years, Gary Schulz; her stepchildren, Gary Schulz Jr. and Teri Stacey; her siblings, David Madden, Bill Madden, Gayla Rochambeau, and Virginia Madden; her stepmother, Norma Madden; her six grandchildren, Jessica Pariera, Vanessa Boewer, Emily Pariera, Alexandria Fredrickson, Abigail Diamond, and Sydney Fredrickson; her four step-grandchildren; her many great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Shirley Madden and her mother, Evva Louise Boyce. A memorial service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2016 at The Riverhouse, 7710 Rogue River Dr., Shady Cove, Ore. In lieu of flowers, please consider planting a garden, a plant, or flowers in her name, to make the world a brighter place as she did.
