According to a Jackson County Sheriff's Department press release, deputies spotted a red 2012 Volkswagen Jetta near the intersection of Highway 62 and Justice Road. The driver of the car, which had been reported stolen earlier in the day, refused to yield to police and fled down Crater Lake Avenue toward a school zone, where police called off the pursuit, the release said. Oregon State Police and Medford police later found the car near Crater Lake Avenue and McAndrews Road, where they used spike strips to try to stop it, the release said. The car eventually stopped on a dead-end street and the driver fled on foot. A police dog tracked down Nicholas Ryan Crisler, 25, who was hiding beside a nearby home, and Crisler was arrested without incident, the release said. He was lodged in Jackson County Jail on charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, attempt to elude in a vehicle, attempt to elude on foot, reckless driving, recklessly endangering and unlawful possession of heroin. He's being held without bail on a parole violation for a first-degree burglary conviction, jail records show. The car's passenger, 27-year-old Kathlyn Alexandra Bucholz-Fomin of Medford, was arrested on a parole violation for a meth possession charge; jail records show she's also being held without bail. Bucholz-Fomin was also cited for possession of heroin, the release said.
