Main St., Ashland, hosts exhibits year-round that explore energy, anatomy, chemistry, perception, motion, engineering and more. Kids 5 and younger and their caregivers can visit Discovery Island — an exploration space that includes a lagoon, shipwreck playhouse, coconut-tree grove, crawlers cove and a thatched hut. Or visitors can tinker in Da Vinci's Garage. Admission costs $10, $8 for kids 2 to 12 and adults older than 65. Admission is free on the first Wednesday of every month. Darrin Wayne The singer, songwriter and guitarist will play his upbeat, outlaw country songs at 6 p.m. Friday, June 12, at South Stage Cellars, 125 S. Third St., Jacksonville. Wayne has two albums to his credit: "Touch Ya," released in 2006, and "Day Job," released in 2012. The albums were recorded and engineered by Bob Pagano at Mountain View Productions in Grants Pass. The session lineup for "Touch Ya" included keyboard player Andy Pinentel, lead and rhythm guitar player Chris Brubick, bassist Dennis Egli and drummer Mark Stever. "Day Job" was recorded with the same lineup, along with fiddler Dan Doshier, steel guitarist Jerry Truppa and backup vocalists Janeen McGinnis and Lenea Patterson. Admission is free. Eight Dollar Mountain The high-energy bluegrass band — guitarist Darren Campbell, banjo player Stuart Green, mandolin player Phil Johnson, bassist Joe Porto and Mark Lackey on resonator guitar — will play its fast-paced neo-traditional bluegrass blended with old-time country, blues and gospel harmonies at 9 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Talent Club, 114 Talent Ave., Talent. The band's newest album, "Tied to the Tracks," was produced by Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon and recorded at Dennis Dragon's Pacifica Gardens in Williams. Admission costs $5. Brad Wilson California guitar slinger Brad Wilson and his band will play soulful, rocked-up blues at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at the Bear Creek Amphitheater, 1520 Siskiyou Blvd., Medford. Wilson is touring to support his newly released album, " Blues Thunder !" featuring 14 new songs. His 2014 album, "Hands on the Wheel," produced four singles on the charts, including "The Ballad of John Lee." Fans of Gregg Allman, the Doobie Brothers and Marshall Tucker will be all in for Wilson's music. The show is one in the series of Medford Parks' free summer concerts.
