Wolff limited the Jaguars to three runs, including two earned. “It was Greyson really setting the tone on the mound for us,” said Black Tornado coach Brett Wolfe. “He worked ahead of the hitters — they’re a good swinging team — and he was able to limit their bats by competing in the strike zone. He had great command of his pitches.” Wolff worked six innings, surrendering five hits and no walks to go with five strikeouts. Buchanan drove in five runs on the day and finished 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles. After he had a two-out, run-scoring double in the third inning, Buchanan used another two-out double, this time to drive in three runs, in the bottom of North Medford’s five-run fifth to push the lead to 9-1. Berry Hunt went 2-for-4, plated three and scored twice for the Black Tornado (3-1). Crater Spring Break Classic CRATER 5, SOUTH MEDFORD 4: At Central Point, Neil Bastendorff pitched a complete game for Crater, which held off a late rally by South Medford (1-4) in the final Crater Spring Break Classic game at Anhorn Field. Bastendorff allowed four runs, with two earned, on four hits, five strikeouts and two walks. The senior helped his own cause by going 3-for-3 with a run scored. Both Jake Cartwright and Sean Bartlett had two hits, one run and an RBI for the Comets (3-3), who went 3-1 in the tournament. South Medford’s Jaalen Owens finished 3-for-3 — two hits were doubles — with an RBI and a run scored. The Panthers scored two in the seventh. CRATER 9, MILWAUKIE 5, 8 inn.: At Central Point, Crater answered Milwaukie’s seventh-inning rally with four runs in the top of the eighth at Anhorn Field. The Comets (3-3) held a 5-2 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh when Milwaukie chalked up three runs to even the score at 5, forcing an extra inning. Nick Bastendorff and Jake Ireland both went 2-for-4 for the Comets. Rund also drove in three runs and Stoffel scored twice for Grants Pass (4-0-1), who went 2-0-1 in the tourney. Wilson allowed three hits, fanned five and walked one in six innings. In the seventh, with runners at second and third, Shopp ended the game with a strikeout. Dylan Marsh went 2-for-3 for the Eagles (2-2). They scored once in the third inning after Lydon Spradley singled and came home on a bases-loaded walk to Shopp. The other run was in the fifth, when Ryan Lorenz's infield single scored Bennett Rodgers, who walked and stole a base. Moore walked three in winning her second game for the Panthers (2-0). She allowed a two-out single to right-center field in the fifth inning to Ashley Oppelt. Meyer went 2-for-3, belting a solo home run in the fourth inning and singling in a run in the sixth after singles by Moore and Jewel Burgoyne-Russell.
