Medford police arrested Carrithers Tuesday on additional felony charges of first-degree sodomy, first-degree sexual penetration and first-degree sexual abuse. Medford police originally arrested Carrithers July 18 on felony charges of first-degree rape and first-degree sexual abuse. He remained lodged in the Jackson County Jail Tuesday on $2 million bail. Drug Possession — Karan Elizabeth Alexandra Kappel, 24, no known address. Medford police arrested Kappel Tuesday on a felony charge of methamphetamine possession, a misdemeanor charge of providing false information to police, and on warrants charging failure to appear in court on charges of meth and heroin possession, and first- and second-degree theft. She was lodged in jail Tuesday on $100,000 bail. Vehicle Theft — Sarah Elizabeth Vischer, 41, no known address. Jackson County Sheriff's deputies arrested Vischer Tuesday on a felony charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and a warrant charging failure to appear in court on a previous charge of third-degree theft. She was booked in the jail and released Tuesday. Crime reports Theft — Medford police took a report of theft from a vehicle at 5:40 p.m. Monday in the 3100 block of Forest Hill Drive. Items reported stolen included a Matthews bow, Weed Eater trimmer and two sleeping bags. The loss was valued at $1,570. Theft — Medford police took a report of theft at 11:27 a.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of Terminal Loop Parkway. Items reported stolen included a collection of emeralds ranging from .5 to 2 carats, silver certificate dollar bills and bottles of Vicodin and Valium. The loss was valued at more than $30,000. Burglary — Medford police took a report of burglary to a residence at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 1300 block of Franklin Court. Items reported stolen included a women's blue sapphire gold ring, a diamond engagement ring, Canon SLR camera with bag, pocket watch DVD player and nail guns. The loss was valued at $1,800.
