Court records show Aaron Richard Snyder, 32, was scheduled on Wednesday morning for a plea change stemming from 2014 charges of first-degree aggravated theft, first-degree theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle. But Snyder did not show up and now has a warrant out for his arrest. Snyder was originally arrested March 28, 2014, as a suspect in multiple theft cases around Shady Cove and Butte Falls that started in 2011, according to a Jackson County Sheriff's Department probable cause affidavit. The document says he had help from others but does not identify any other suspects. In 2011, Snyder is accused of starting his spree with the theft of a large metal fuel tank from a ranch property and selling part of it for scrap. He is also suspected of cutting up and selling a metal rail car bed the Silver Butte Timber Co. had been using as a bridge on logging land. The affidavit also says Snyder admitted to using a stolen motorcycle for several days and selling a stolen generator in 2013. The affidavit says Snyder admitted to pilfering diesel fuel and heavy equipment batteries from a gravel pit rock crusher. Snyder is also a suspect in the theft and sale of a tractor, a theft the affidavit says he originally denied but later admitted to while in the Jackson County Jail. Court records show Snyder has an open unrelated case stemming from charges of attempting to elude a police officer and reckless driving.
