Oregon Road Conditions & Cams Email Story to a Friend February 1, 2006 Students: We were fondled by classmates By PARIS ACHEN Mail Tribune TALENT — Police are investigating claims that a group of male students at Talent Middle School repeatedly fondled at least two female classmates during a technology class. Talent police said they could not comment on the case until the probe concludes next week. Phoenix-Talent School District officials also declined to comment, citing the ongoing investigation. "We had some allegations, and there is an investigation," said Superintendent Ben Bergreen. "We don’t want to say anything more because we don’t want to jeopardize the investigation." The mother of one of the girls said five boys repeatedly grabbed her 12-year-old daughter’s breasts, buttocks and vagina during a technology class while the teacher was present. Advertisement The mother said she filed a complaint with the police department Jan. 13. She said the boys had confessed to police that they had touched her daughter inappropriately. The school recently suspended the boys, she said. School district officials and police said they could not confirm the confessions nor the disciplinary actions. The mother said her daughter had told the boys to stop touching her and tried to bat them away. Nonetheless, her daughter’s actions failed to get the attention of the teacher, she said. Her daughter never reported the incidents to the teacher, she said. "I can’t believe a teacher would not see when the boys were touching her vagina, her breasts, her buttocks," the mother said. "It blows me away." The teacher had no comment. The other girl could not be reached for this story. The mother of the 12-year-old said her daughter has been receiving private counseling.
