California man dies on Highway 199 near Selma An 87-year-old California man was killed on Highway 199 near Selma Friday when his car rammed into the back of a parked logging truck. Harold Stephen Dodge of Richmond, Calif., was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Oregon State Police. Dodge was driving south on the highway about 4:30 p.m. Saturday in a 1991 Chevrolet four-door. About milepost 16, near Hayes Hill in Josephine County, the car struck the rear of a logging truck parked partially in the right-hand lane. The truck was "disabled," although it was not clear what was wrong with the truck. The log-truck driver, Davron Holland, 38, of Gold Beach, was not injured. No citations have been issued. According to police, emergency reflectors were on the road just behind the log truck. The highway was closed until 10 p.m. during the police investigation.
