According to a Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office news release, deputies believe Steven Ray Guymon, no age given, may have been the victim of a crime that sent him to Mercy Medical Center with a possibly debilitating injury Wednesday night. Deputies were sent to the Mt. Shasta hospital about 9:35 p.m. after medical personnel reported Guymon, who had been found earlier in the evening at his home in the 300 block of Quincy Street, was unconscious as a result of his injuries. The release said that the cause of Guymon's injuries remains unknown and that the Sheriff's Office's Major Crimes Team has been tasked with a follow-up investigation. Authorities are asking anybody with information about Guymon's activities prior to Wednesday evening to call the sheriff's dispatch center at 530-841-2900.
