Jones went 10-for-13 to score a season-high 27 points with five assists for the Knights (23-6 overall, 13-4 Cascade Conference), who shot 57 percent as a team — including 18-for-28 in the second half. The Raiders (22-7, 11-6) were unable to get the defensive stops needed to break through. Now they need a win in tonight's final game of the regular-season against 11th-ranked Concordia to secure the No. 4 seed and a first-round home game in the CCC tournament. Tonight's game is at 7:30 at Riehm Arena. Doug Thomas scored 19 points, Coletun Tarr had 18 on 5-for-6 shooting and Michael Hall made all four of his attempts for eight points and seven rebounds. Ryan Parks was 4-for-7 from 3-point range in the first half, helping the Knights build a 36-32 lead. SOU's Jordan West totaled 21 points and 11 rebounds for his second 20-10 game and third double-double of the season. Ben DeSaulnier scored 20 points, Tim Weber had 11 assists and 11 rebounds and Eric Thompson chipped in 13 points and five boards. It wasn't enough for the Raiders to overcome WPC's torrid shooting. Raider guard Justin Martin hit three from downtown, but what looked to be his fourth triple rattled in and out with just over nine minutes left. A make would've closed the gap to two points, and one minute later buckets by Jones and Thomas took the Knight lead to 67-57. West's layup cut it to 69-64 with 6:28 left, but Thomas came right back with a 3-pointer to start a 7-0 surge. Women's Basketball SOU 82, WARNER PACIFIC 56: At Ashland, eighth-ranked Southern Oregon was in cruise control early before asserting itself in the second half of the blowout. Six players scored nine or more for the Raiders, who improved to 24-3 overall and 14-3 in the Cascade Conference while running their home win streak to 15 games dating back to last season. First-place Eastern Oregon won 64-56 at Northwest University, meaning SOU has to beat Concordia tonight and hope for a Mountaineer loss at Evergreen State to earn a share of the CCC title. Both regular-season finales tip off at 5:30 p.m. SOU was led by Courtney West's 13 points and seven rebounds; Kristen Schoenherr's 11 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals; Ashley Claussen's 11 points, six rebounds and three steals; and Alexi Smith's 10 points and seven boards. Schoenherr, Smith and West combined for 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting after halftime, helping the Raiders expand a nine-point lead with a 46-29 advantage in the second. Softball SOU WINS TWICE: At Portland, Southern Oregon’s Brianne Craig and Sydney White pitched the Raiders to two wins in the Northwest Cup. In SOU's opener, a 4-1 win against Great Falls (Mont.), Craig danced around 13 base runners (she allowed 11 hits and walked two) but kept the Argos off the board until the seventh inning. White then spun a one-hitter in a 5-0 victory over British Columbia, striking out five with two walks. Raider hurlers have yielded one earned run in 28 innings this week. The Raiders are 14-4 with games today at 9 a.m. against Simpson (Calif.) and 1 p.m. against Lewis & Clark. SOU's lineup was productive as well, getting four hits and four RBIs from Megan Scherer and Alexa Gonzalez's second home run of the season. The Raiders totaled 10 hits in the first win and eight in the second. Craig (5-0) worked with runners on in every inning against the Argos (1-1) but didn't crack until Kirstie Thomas singled in Mindy Larson in the seventh. Scherer singled home Sulie Augustine in SOU's two-run first inning and she doubled in Augustine in the third. Augustine went 2-for-2 with two walks, Kelsey Randall had a hit and two runs, and both stole two bases. Cortney Nolan had a pair of singles. In the nightcap, Gonzalez gave the Raiders a lead with her solo blast in the fourth. During a four-run fifth inning, Augustine's single resulted in a throwing error that scored Gonzalez and Randall, Scherer's fielder's choice brought home one more, and Megan Winton's double provided the final score. Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with two steals in the game and Winton was 2-for-3. White (3-3) retired the final 15 hitters she faced. It was the fifth shutout of her career and first one-hitter. Baseball OSU 10, KANSAS STATE 9: At Surprise, Ariz., Billy King’s two-out pinch-hit single in the bottom of the ninth lifted Oregon State. King, pinch hitting for Kyle Nobach, laced an 0-1 pitch from reliever Kyle Halbohn to left field, scoring Christian Donahue from third. Donahue was pinch ran for Gabe Clark, who opened the inning with a single. Donahue moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by Logan Ice and to third on a groundout by Caleb Hamilton. The win was third in the final at-bat for OSU (4-2). OREGON 11, NEW MEXICO STATE 3: At Eugene, No. 20 Oregon scored the final eight runs of the night to break a tie. The two teams fought to a stalemate through 5 2/3 innings, each scoring single runs in three different frames for a 3-3 tie. Following a game-tying single for the Aggies in the top of the sixth, UO reliever Josh Graham came on with one out and one on, coaxed a double play on his first pitch. The Ducks took the lead on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth — one of 10 free passes — got an insurance run on a steal of home in the seventh and then broke it open with a six-run eighth, punctuated by Shaun Chase's third career grand slam.
