The National Weather Service office in Medford issued a short-term forecast at 5:18 a.m. warning people to be careful on snowy roads across the valley. Radar and weather spotters reported up to an inch of snow on the valley floor with light to moderate snow possible. Another half inch of snow was predicted in the short-term forecast. The weather service also reminded drivers to clear vehicle windows of snow and ice to ensure they could see and to maintain a safe distance between other cars and give themselves plenty of time to reach their destination. Some snow flurries could linger through the day, with a little more snow falling at elevations above 2,000 feet. The forecast calls for a weak ridge of high pressure to push into the region Monday evening, bringing a chance of low clouds and patchy freezing fog. Another cold front Tuesday evening will bring 1 to 3 inches of snow to the mountains above 2,500 feet.
