Brandon Taylor made a 3-pointer with 1:57 remaining to give Utah a 57-55. York then drew Jakob Poeltl's fifth foul and made one free throw and then rebounded his miss on the second attempt and put it in to give the Wildcats a 58-57 lead with 1:39 to play. Hollis-Jefferson, who had 10 points, made 3 of 4 free throws in the final minute and York hit two more to clinch the Wildcats' 13th straight win over Utah (22-6, 12-4 Pac-12). Kaleb Taczewski led Arizona (26-3, 14-2) with 13 points while Stanley Johnson had 12 points and 11 rebounds. The Wildcats now lead the conference standings by two games with two games remaining. After dominating Utah 69-51 earlier in the season thanks to a big rebounding advantage, the Wildcats again bullied the Utes on the boards, 44-35, to overcome 33-percent shooting. Delon Wright had 17 points and Jordan Loveridge scored 10 before fouling out as the Utes finished the season 16-1 at home. NO. 1 KENTUCKY 84, NO. 18 ARKANSAS 67: At Lexington, Ky.,Andrew Harrison and Trey Lyles each scored 18 points and Kentucky rolled past Arkansas to win the Southeastern Conference regular-season title. The long-awaited marquee matchup of the SEC's top two teams belonged to the undefeated Wildcats (29-0, 16-0) on both ends as they earned their 46th league title and halted a three-game losing streak against the Razorbacks (23-6, 12-4). Kentucky's league-leading defense held the conference's top scoring team to 38 percent shooting and 12 points below its average. The Wildcats meanwhile shot 48 percent from the field and outrebounded the Razorbacks 38-32, among other statistics, to extend their best-ever start. NO. 2 VIRGINIA 69, VIRGINIA TECH 57: At Charlottesville, Va., Malcolm Brogdon scored 19 points and Virginia assured itself at least a share of the Atlantic Coast Conference regular-season championship. The Cavaliers (27-1, 15-1) started the day with a two-game lead over second-place Duke with three games remaining in the regular season. One more victory will give them back-to-back regular season titles. Their eighth straight victory also matched the 1981-82 squad for the best start in program history. BYU 73, NO. 3 GONZAGA 70: At Spokane, Wash., Kyle Collinsworth scored 20 points and BYU ended the Bulldogs' school-record 22-game winning streak, likely costing them a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament. Byron Wesley scored 17 points to lead Gonzaga (29-2, 17-1 West Coast Conference). The Bulldogs' 41-game home winning streak also ended. Skyler Halford added 14 points for BYU (23-9, 13-5) and Chase Fischer had 13. The Cougars have won six in a row to preserve their NCAA tournament hopes. Gonzaga used a 20-11 run to pull to 71-70 on Eric McClellan's free throws with 2.6 seconds remaining. The Cougars inbounded the ball to Ryan Andrus, who was fouled and made both free throws for a three-point lead with 1.5 seconds left. Kyle Wiltjer's shot from beyond mid-court bounced off the rim as time expired. NO. 4 DUKE 73, SYRACUSE 54: At Durham, N.C., freshman Justise Winslow scored a season-high 23 points and Duke routed Syracuse for its ninth straight win. Jahlil Okafor added 13 points and 14 rebounds and Quinn Cook scored 17 points for the Blue Devils (26-3, 13-3 Atlantic Coast Conference). They used a late 20-7 run to roll to their 12th win in 13 games. Tyler Roberson had 16 points for Syracuse (18-11, 9-7). Duke transfer Michael Gbinije — who had 27 points against his old team two weeks ago — finished with 12 on 5-of-20 shooting. NO. 6 VILLANOVA 78, XAVIER 66: At Cincinnati, Kris Jenkins hit back-to-back 3-pointers to start a late run and Villanova rallied to beat Xavier for its 10th straight victory. The Wildcats (27-2, 14-2 Big East) made five 3s — their specialty — during a 17-7 spurt for their only substantial lead of the game. Jenkins had 14 points, and Dylan Ennis finished with 16. The winning streak is Villanova's second-longest in Big East regular season play, trailing an 11-game streak in 2005-06. NO. 8 KANSAS 69, TEXAS 64: At Lawrence, Kan., Perry Ellis had 28 points and 13 rebounds and Kansas held on through a tense final minute to beat Texas. Kelly Oubre Jr. added 15 points and Frank Mason III had 12 for the Jayhawks (23-6, 12-4), who remained a game clear of second-place Oklahoma with two games left in the Big 12 race. Trying to bolster its NCAA resume, Texas (17-12, 6-10) had its chances down the stretch. Isaiah Taylor missed the front end of a one-and-one with the Longhorns trailing 66-64 and 48.3 seconds left. Then, the sophomore guard missed a spinning, off-balanced floater that would have tied it with 6.1 seconds left. Oubre calmly made two foul shots at the other end of the floor to put the game away. NO. 11 WICHITA STATE 74, NO. 10 NORTHERN IOWA 60: At Wichita, Kan., Ron Baker scored 17 points and Wichita State beat Northern Iowa to wrap up the Missouri Valley Conference regular-season championship. Fred VanVleet added 13 points for the Shockers (27-3, 17-1) and Tekele Cotton and Evan Wessel had 11 each. Seth Tuttle scored 16 points to lead Northern Iowa (27-3, 16-2). The Panthers had won 16 straight. KANSAS STATE 70, NO. 12 IOWA STATE 69: At Manhattan, Kan., MWesley Iwundu capped a 22-9 run with a two-handed slam to lift Kansas State past Iowa State. Kansas State (15-15, 8-9 Big 12) tied it at 66 apiece on Justin Edwards's tip-in with 59.4 seconds left. After Iwundu gave Kansas State a 68-66 lead, Monte Morris had a 3-point play to give the Cyclones (20-8, 10-6) a one-point advantage. A bad pass from Georges Niang on a later inbounds pass gave Iwundu the opportunity at redemption for a missed free throw with the dunk. NO. 14 MARYLAND 66, MICHIGAN 56: At College Park, Md., Melo Trimble scored 19 points and Maryland beat Michigan to complete an undefeated season at home in the Big Ten. The Terrapins (24-5, 12-4) finished 18-1 at home — the only defeat against Virginia on Dec. 3. Maryland's 9-0 mark at home in the Big Ten includes Tuesday night's win over fifth-ranked Wisconsin. NO. 15 NORTH CAROLINA 73, MIAMI 64: At Coral Gables, Fla, Brice Johnson had five dunks and 22 points to help North Carolina end a streak of four consecutive losses against Miami. The 6-foot-9 Johnson repeatedly outmaneuvered the Hurricanes inside and shot 11 for 15. He also had 11 rebounds. North Carolina (20-9, 10-6 Atlantic Coast Conference) reached 20 victories for the 11th time in 12 years under coach Roy Williams. Miami (18-11, 8-8) lost at home for the sixth time this season.
