The pickup's driver was taken by ambulance to the Rogue Regional Medical Center with what the Medford Police Department described as non life-threatening injuries from the 4:15 p.m. wreck. The driver's identity was not immediately available this evening. Southbound traffic was backed up past the Central Point exit more than three miles away and OSP closed the southbound ramps at exits 30 and 33 right around rush hour to reduce congestion while the roadway was cleared of debris, according to the Oregon Department of Transportation. Also, two dogs associated with the crashed vehicle were loose in the roadway but animal-control officers were able to collect them safely, according to the Oregon State Police. Traffic was relegated to one lane of slow-moving vehicles until the wreckage was removed in the evening, according to ODOT. Northbound traffic was also slowed while emergency crews parked in the fast northbound lane to respond to the crash, ODOT reported.
