The call for support applies as much to the high school students as to the citizens who showed a slight lukewarmness in attending the Eugene games. Better games have never been seen in this city than those of last week, and those who attend are assured of their money's worth besides showing school and civic pride. Coach Klum has succeeded in injecting the fighting spirit into the team, and today have shown the most class of any team ever representing the local school. The games with Ashland will be played at the end of the season, and a record breaking attendance is assured for these. What the team needs is a little moral and financial support before they meet their ancient enemy. A meeting of school patrons in the Lincoln school area was held at the school last evening, Superintendent Hillis and a number of teachers being present, the meeting having been called primarily for a discussion of the proposition to use the Lincoln school building for the accommodation of the junior high school department to be instituted. While assembled, it was thought well to discuss the proposition also of the change of pupils from one school to another at the beginning of this semester, some parents having objected to the distance their children would have to travel in order to reach their school rooms under the new arrangement. Superintendent Hillis re-arranged the plans, somewhat, and the result is satisfactory to all concerned. Charles G. Anthony, of Saratoga Springs, New York, consulting engineer for the mineral springs at that place, and the highest authority in the United States on mineral waters, arrived today to confer with members of the Pompadour Mineral Springs company of Medford, Grants Pass and Ashland. George W. Soranson accompanied Mr. Anthony this afternoon to Ashland to examine the springs property of the company near there. Mr. Anthony will remain two or three days in his investigation.
