Letters, Aug. 29 By Ashland Tidings readers Aug 29, 2019 12:00 AM A A Thanks for clinic grant We would like to publicly express our heartfelt gratitude to Soroptimist International Ashland for their annual grant to the Foot Care Clinic at Ashland Senior Center. For over 10 years, the Soroptimists’ dedication and generosity have supported low-income older adults in maintaining better foot health. Soroptimist International is a volunteer service organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls locally and globally. Foot care nurses witness the transformative value of regular foot care in elders. Quality of life improves with better balance, comfort and safety, enabling individuals to be more active, social and independent. The Foot Care Clinic is a wonderful long-term partnership between Ashland Soroptimists, local foot care nurses and the Ashland Senior Center. While the clinic is currently at capacity, low-income seniors needing professional foot care may call 541-488-5342 to be placed on a waiting list for future openings.
