She was born June 22, 1940 in Britton, S.D. to Cora Billey and Norman Johnson. She was a very successful local business owner and bookkeeper until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, dancing, and spending time with her daughter and her two grandkids. Marie is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Mapes; granddaughter, Sami Mapes; and grandson, Ben Mapes. She was preceded in death by her boyfriend and partner, Earl Smith. At Marie's request, no services will be held. Donations may be made in her name to the Southern Oregon Humane Society. Arrangements are in care of Conger-Morris, Central Point.
